Volunteer Tutor
(Refugee/Community Support Program)
Role Overview:
Equal Ed is a social enterprise committed to making education more accessible to those in our community. Tutors of the program will be assigned to our communities or schools programs to support young people from refugee or marginalised backgrounds.

Beyond the academics, the program is also very rapport-based and relationship focussed. Tutors will be working closely with their students to build a foundation of trust and work collaboratively with them to overcome various barriers including language, culture and student voice.

Opportunity to move laterally within Equal Ed into new roles

Who We're Looking For:
As the program is designed on a peer-learning model, we are looking for young people aged 17 - 28 who are passionate about supporting others to succeed. Skills that we think will make you great for the role include:

- Strong communication skills
- Adaptability
- Creativity in problem solving
- Being unafraid of failure
- Prior tutoring experience not required

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to participate in an online interview/selection process

If successful in the interview, applicants will go through a half day training and induction before being onboarded to the program.
